		<description>Thanks for your input, Sharon!  I also think that Step 3 keeps the candidate top-of-mind for the hiring manager. Even if the position the candidate applied for has been filled, the hiring manager may remember him/her the next time there&#039;s an opening.</description>

With the high volume of people applying for each job, follow up on the employer side has drastically declined and these steps can certainly help applicants get an update on the status of the hiring process.</description>

I frequently have &quot;followed my gut&quot; and then have people tell me &quot;I&#039;m lucky&quot;.  I am lucky...but I&#039;ve worked for my luck.  When I became unemployed, &amp; couldn&#039;t find another job, I went back to school.  I immediately found a position when I graduated.  It&#039;s a matter of keep moving forward...life is full of challenges, but that&#039;s what makes it interesting.</description>
